I See London

To kick of London Fashion week (and to also give a reprieve from the fashion week craze that I voluntarily got myself into) I wanted to show some pictures of my time in London. Let me first apologize for the picture quality and follow that up with an apology for lack of pictures in general. Fish and chips were on my mind more than taking pictures and this trip happened well before I met my DSLR camera. Not my best work but at least you can get a taste for what I experienced in London. I enjoyed this city because there was no language barrier so I never had anyone look at my like I was crazy when I ordered a drink, unlike Paris. At least I'll always know the proper way to say Kir Royale even if I had to learn the hard way. The Tower Bridge, Big Ben, the London Eye, the I-must-take-this-obligatory red phone booth photo, the Harry Potter Bridge and hanging out in Hyde Park and not paying to do so (seriously who pays to sit in the chairs anyways?) were all highlights of my trip. All in all I had a great time in London and I am looking forward to highlighting London Fashion week.

10 Valentine's Day Date Ideas

The countdown to Valentine's Day is on. (My countdown officially started the moment I ate these delicious Valentine's Day inspired macarons.) To kick things off, I am sharing my 10 favorite ideas of things to do with your sweetie or girlfriends - because Galentine's Day is just as important and amazing as Valentine's Day!

Treat yoself and your partner to a relaxing spa date
Sign up for a cooking class and learn some kitchen skills
Visit a winery for some afternoon wine tasting
Hit up the bowling alley for some fun or competitive games/duels

Enjoy a sophisticated evening at a jazz bar - or any music bar
Plan a dinner date at a new or favorite restaurant
Stay home and watch your favorite old movie or go out to the theater for a new release
Plan a quick weekend getaway to explore another city

Duquesne Incline

Duquesne Incline in Pittsburgh. We may not have known how to say it (we later found out it's Du-cane not Du-ques-nee) but luckily we don't have to pass a pronunciation test in order to ride. An adventurous climb, a picturesque view of downtown and one hell of a laugh trying to find a bathroom. It was the perfect way to start our girls weekend in Pittsburgh.

Parisian Coffee Table Books

I'm pretty much obsessed with everything Parisian. The style, design, food, gardens and of course the city are hard to top. Ever since visiting many years ago I've been dying to go back and just wander the white-washed streets aimlessly soaking up every inch of beauty the city has to offer. Because I can't visit on a whim (how amazing that would be?) I've decided to dedicate a week to the City of Love. I'm kicking the week off with my favorite Parisian books. If I can't visit, I might as well surround myself with books that can transport me to this amazing city while simply sitting at home.
