{The Riviera Fountain in Lake Geneva}
Lake Geneva is a 7,00 person town just north of the Illinois border in southern Wisconsin. It's the place that Illinois residents call "Up North" and flock to during summer weekends but it's also a popular destination for Wisconsinites as well. This quaint town is situated on the banks of a gorgeous lake surrounded by even more gorgeous mansions. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend filled with outdoor activities, unique restaurants and downtown strolling, this is the perfect place for you.

Bella Vista or The Cove – both hotels are right on the water and
within walking distance from downtown shops and restaurants.
Eat:
Breakfast - Simple Cafe or Boatyard Bagel
If you are looking for a sit-down, large menu breakfast, go to Simple Cafe but know that you may have to wait for a table. If you want to eat on the go or grab a bagel and eat outside, Boatyard Bagel is the perfect option.

Dinner - Sopra Bistro or Geneva ChopHouse
We ate at Sopra Bistro our first night in Lake Geneva and it was dynamite. Located right in the heart of downtown Lake Geneva, we were able to take a leisurely stroll there from our hotel. The restaurant is smaller so a reservation is a must. The drinks and the food were delightful and although it was nicer, jeans were acceptable! Check and check. For a fancier, out of downtown experience, Geneva Chophouse is the go to spot. Steaks, Seafood and Style is their mantra and they do not disappoint. Geneva ChopHouse is situated overlooking the pristine golf course making this a place where you could spend hours enjoying both the food and the scenery. I would highly discourage the wearing of jeans at the ChopHouse.

To Do:
Shop your way through downtown. My absolute favorite store is The Olive Oil Shop. Yes, they let you try as many oils as you want. Yes, it's like being a kid in a candy store.
Walk around the lake and view the beautiful homes.
Kayakwith Clear Water Outdoor - you can rent your kayak and choose your time online, show up at Clear Water Outdoor 10 min before your scheduled time and they walk your kayaks down to the water for you.
Relax, sip some wine and play some board games at Pop More Corks wine bar.
